Oh girl, me too. It took me a lot of years to realize people found me unapproachable. I think Covid is teaching all of us to appreciate social situations a little more.
Such a relatable read. I'm usually not the most bubbly person at all with strangers and the pandemic has simply made things worse. Somedays I wonder how we're going to go back to being normal again. So you're right, just making the effort to say hello is a good first step.
Thank you for reading. And I agree, it will be hard to get back into the swing of things--but I hope all this isolation is teaching us something. That even small interactions with each other are valuable and how we use those opportunities can truly bless us and others. Take care.
My family was just discussing "invisible people" the other day. As observant as some people are, can anyone describe what their garbage person (gah I hate even describing them that way) looks like? In my neighborhood, he is coming by three times a week. There is a person coming to my house three times a week and I could not tell you with absolute certainty what he specifically looks like. Thank you for reminding us to look up and maybe even say hello.
You know exactly what I mean then--there are so many people that just float through life wanting so much to connect to others. We should say hello and be kind. It's really not hard!
I can relate to this in so many ways. It's only been in the last few years I had my own walls, when I started pushing myself out of my comfort zone.
Plus, I have an RBF (resting bitch face) that won't quit. :/
Great post!
